airplane ride

This Saturday (Labor Day weekend) we took the kids to the Lakes of the North fly-in and car show. What an experience! Karlie was a little timid, so Adam stayed on the ground with her and I got to take the kids up in the air. Morgan and Isaac were so excited, they kept saying "The cars looked like ants!" I must admit, it was pretty awesome and so clear. Our pilot's name was whiskey and he was very informative and great with they kids. He told them that when they become an astronaut they need to call him and give him a ride in a rocket. Also, there was a pig roast and remote-controlled airplanes and helicopters. I can't believe how fast they can fly. We would like to take the kids back again next year. If Isaac looks as though he's been crying it's because he has sunscreen in his eyes and it makes them puffy and red (poor guy).

end of summer fun

Every year at the end of summer, we meet my friend Angel and her family at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. She has a 7-year old son Nathan and a 6-week old (at the time) daughter Alexis. Alexis has the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen. She can open them so wide and one of her nicknames is "CrazyEyes". I'm looking forward to meeting again next summer: Thanks Angel!

leap frog

Playing on the lilly-pads at the lodge. It's a lot easier for the kids to get across, most adults fall off before the third pad.

Kid Cabin

The room we stayed in at the Great Wolf Lodge had a "Kid Cabin" inside of it. Inside of the kids's little cabin was a set of bunkbeds and a day-bed, they also had their own TV. They loved it!

swimming

Swimming at the great wolf lodge. Adam's sister and mother can with us, what a great time! i

Scotty

This is my friend Jill and her families' puppy, his name is Scotty. In this picture he is about 7 weeks old. I get to watch him fairly often, what a sweet boy and so cute!

catch and release

Yay, we finally got to hold a monarch butterfly before releasing it! This is the butterfly from the second catterpillar we found.

dirt bike

We finally got Karlie to give the dirt bike a try and she loves it! Isaac passed out after a hard day of playing, he loves the dirt bike too (surprise-surprise:) We use a teather with Isaac so he can't get too carried away.
